Has anyone played/finished Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain? If so I'd like to hear what you think of the game. I know this is a kinda random thread but idc I just wanted to know what some of you thought about MGSV.
Never played it the only MSG game that I love to play is the first one. I tried Msg2 but I don't liked it.
If, for whatever reason, you want to contact me, send me a dm on twitter. twitter.com/ScottAllRubin --- thank to all of you for all the good times we had here and for being always nice and helpful. You're great guys!
The only Metal Gear I've played was a Pizza Hut demo of the PS1 game. I'm not even really a huge fan of stealth games, but The Phantom Pain does look great and very ambitious, so I do plan on picking it up at some point.

MGS games (and to a lesser extent the two MG games) are very heavily story reliant, if you get MGS5 without playing the others then don't expect to understand the impact of characters showing up or who people are supposed to be.
I would also say if anyone plans to play the series though? Don't be a dick and play them in story order, do it in number/release order instead because it'll unravel in the correct order as it's supposed to after all.
You could play MGS3, Peace Walker, Ground Zeroes, then MGSV: Phantom Pain if you really wanted to get a grasp of the new game's story quickly. Well, quickly as you can for that. But if you do find yourself wishing to experience the whole story, start with MGS1 or Metal Gear. Just do it however you want.
And GVZ, did it not come out on PS3 where you live?

I really would start with MGS1, MG 1 and 2 can be summed up pretty quickly (the stories of both are explained within MGS1 in the menu), just because they had far less story to them.
Also yeah I'm pretty sure it came out on PS3 but I would like some games to add to my PS4 list, because I plan to get a PS4 anyway. Plus the picture of games consoles, including my PS3, has never displayed properly on my TV as the picture is too big (and no changing the picture size doesn't make a difference, it's ALWAYS too big to fit the screen), something to do with using a SCART cable I don't really know.

Unfortunately, I don't really have the time to play multiple video games like I used to. Studies and whatnot. So I'll probably just go into MGS5 blind. I'm sure it'll be fine though. If I'm able to keep track of the nonsensical story of the Kingdom Hearts series despite having only played half of the games, then I can surely pick up on any storyline thrown at me!
Don't get me wrong MGSV is a great game but I feel like there's a big piece missing in it. Not with just the story, but gameplay and some of the things I felt like I was promised but didn't get. I felt as if MGSV got the treatment that Bungie's Destiny got, there clearly seems to be alot of stuff removed/changed. Most likely because of Kojima getting fired but still the game and story just felt incomplete despite it being wrapped up very nicely.
