I hope it's a real remake like the N'Sane Trilogy. And if it really is - looks like I don't need to continue Dan-Hand game project. But still, I have some concerns. This whole teaser is Resurrection themed. I mean - Dan and everything else may not look like in the 2 original games.
Awesome news! I hope this isn't based on the PSP remake. The original is better. I also hope they don't make it overly goofy and cartoony looking. The original had great atmosphere. I really liked the style that the fan game video used not long ago.
Last night when I was going to sleep, I was thinking about how evry year we make hype out of nothing that there will be new MediEvil game announced, and started laughing how we get dissappointed evry time because no new Medievil game was shown.
As I was trying to fall a sleep I was imagineing to wake up in te morning and see a new medievil game.
Holy cow. I cant believe this was happening!! I personally was hoping for Spyro or CTR, because I always thought Medievil was unlikely in these days...but I'm so glad I was wrong!! This gives me hope for the other two now. That aside, I really do hope this is based on the first Medievil and not the PSP one. The atmosphere of that game was amazing!! and the music...they need to keep that music or get Bob & Barn back...one can dream.
As soon as they have something to show, which may or may not be the next gaming event, as you say. Depends on how far into production they are. Based on the trailer shown two days ago, they're just starting out.
I really like the graphical style that the fan made Unreal Engine 4 videos have used:
It looks cartoony but realistic at the same time. How you guys want the game to look?
It's a nice look, but I don't think they should use the first video's style for the remaster. I think it's important they look at each level's geometry and textures and just try and add higher quality textures, details and more polygons. Just like Crash Bandicoot. I think anything else will lose the style of MediEvil. The second video is more what they should aim for.
I also hope that despite more powerful hardware, they keep the black fog of darkness as this really sold the atmosphere and showed off the rather beautiful skybox.
I have to say, although I thought I'd be hitting the roof over this prospect, I don't think I'll get too excited until its absolutely confirmed that this will be a PS1 remake, and not a PSP graphical upscale. I'm a bit dubious about whichever team they bring in to do it, too, but we'll have to wait and see.
Either way, its great and slightly surreal that Sony are even talking about Medievil again. I honestly thought it would never happen at this rate.
