- Name: MediEvil E3 Demo / 50% Development Stage (Alpha/Pre-Beta) - Date: Assuming it was USA version of E3 (It's in English), would make the date somewhere between June 19-21, 1997 in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia. - Format: Playable demo in a video. - Source: Youtube Video. - Levels: Just footage from The Graveyard. - Description: Same gameplay but probably only the Graveyard level. This was before it got made into the Rolling Demo, but as a trade show exclusive it's probably not available anywhere.
Discuss as you like This is probably even before the date of the Rolling Demo and has even less production (hard to tell though as you only see The Graveyard of course). The development being listed at 50% makes it seems likely.
I'm currently waiting for a reply to see exactly what E3 event and even possibly what exact date this was on display.
edit: The uploader seems to think the E3 event was indeed in the USA, so we'll have to assume that information is correct from now on. I don't think we'll ever be able to work one exactly what day it was between the 19th and 21st of June 1997 though.
Well this is SERIOUSLY cool! You can absolutely see a closer resemblance to "Ghosts and Goblins" due to the fixed/railed camera angles (which I actually think are really cool!)
What is particularly interesting is seeing it run at seemingly 60FPS without any of the PS1 hardware limitations such as vertex and texture precision. It feels super nice too!
Forgive me bad knowledge of technical stuff, but isn't the slow down just from the EU versions? I assumed the version being shown was just a prototype of the faster US version as the show was in the US.
