How impractical gallowmere is? I mean, the necropolis is located near the sea, far away from the sleeping village. Also, one of its access gates (the "Fortesque" one) faces the sea (?) Am I missing something here? Also notice how the Asylum is as big as the Castle and how the Necropolis is Bigger than the village, the Asylum and the ruins together!!! Edit: I also noticed in the FMVs that zarok enters the graveyard from the "Fortesque" gate, that seems to be connected in some way with the sleeping village... How is that possible, if it is located in the upper part of the island?
There is a cut between going from the sleeping village to the graveyard, I have no idea about the other stuff though
The map is wrong... In the last FMV Dan looks at the village in the distance from the hill in the graveyard, but that can't be if the village is located where the map says. Honestly resurrection's map makes much more sense. I hope they fix this in the remake...
EDIT: Maybe I solved the problem. I read somewhere that the game didn't even have a Land Map at first: every level just started after the other. I think that when they decided to draw the map, they forgot where they put some things or maybe they decided what map looked good only when the FMVs were already made or, maybe, they even forgot the location of the village and left the Fortesque gate facing the sea. This would also explain why we never see the main entrance (not the one on the hill) of the Crypt and we just see Dan entering the Graveyard from the gate: They never tought about giving the crypt a main entrance, because it had to be near the sleeping village! This explains why the map had to be reworked for Resurrection: the mistake was found only after the first game was published.

FMV Gallowmere and in-game Gallowmere don't match up, it's as simple as that. There's no real lore explanation for it, I'm afraid. The layout is one of the few things that Resurrection actually fixed. I wonder if the remake will do the same (or at least provide more consistency).
