Despite the quest rewards from each of the witches, personally I liked the forest witch because she seems like an actually Witch. Now I know this might not sound politically correct but when I was growing up Witches were painted as dark, crafty characters that caused havoc. So basically the forest witch seems more traditional and that just appealed to me more whereas the pumpkin witch just seems like a fairy god mother
I wish there was an option to kill the witch if you said no to her offer and then it immediately turns into a mini boss fight. So then if you manage to kill the witch there would be a probability or chance she would drop something ranging from a copper shield or life bottle. Just increases the decision making elements a tad.

I think she would need to drop something decent 100% of the time to make that decision worth missing out on the Ant Caves though. Maybe she would drop the Chicken Drumsticks? Sort of like a trade off for not getting to visit the Hall of Heroes from the fairy, then at least you wouldn't miss out on a visit AND a brilliant weapon

but come on in, and make yourself at home" - Zarok's Entrance Hall Gargoyle
And for the record I don't think it was really worth going the whole way through the Ant caves just for chicken drumsticks. Its like saying to someone, ''Hey wanna have some of my KFC..?! Go smash up that ant hill!'' Not to mention the chicken drumsticks aren't that great and are costly to buy more...
